My Father Works

Habakkuk 2:2 (NASB)
Then the LORD answered me and said, “Record the vision And inscribe it on tablets, That the one who reads it may run.

The Word teaches that man must plan and work to earn the monetary blessings of God (Genesis 3:19). The Lord places the desire in your heart and helps you to create a plan to make it a reality (Proverbs 19:21, Proverbs 16:9). He then makes helps you to accomplish your goals. The path may not be clear but if we maintain a persistent attitude.

Our God is a doer (Psalm 104:24). He likewise expects it of us (Genesis 3:19). We may cry some tears but it will make us stronger. It will bring out the best in us (Psalm 126:5-6). It will also help us to become compatible (the equal half) to the person we desire to attract.

From the beginning we are told that the two will become one flesh (Genesis 2:24). I am sure you will agree that both must be equal halves to become a whole. If you try to put two halves from a plain cake and a fruit cake of different sizes together, will they fit together?  Won’t extra work be needed to make them fit?

Joining two unequal halves also makes it very difficult to put on the icing, to give it a perfect finish. The icing is the happiness God will allow to come forth in the marriage.  Both halves are different, but with a bit of effort, destiny is achieved.

Magic Does Not Work

Nothing happens by magic. Wishing that things happen without working towards it, is witchcraft. Think about it? People who seek success without the effort, must employ other means to achieve it. Some people resort to using magic portions, merely praying for it to come to past or by manipulation. My friend, let this not be the example you follow.

Our heavenly Father sets forth the example for us to follow.  It is detailed in Genesis 1-2We are given succinct glimpse of what was done. As He worked relentlessly. After accomplishing a stage in the process, He paused momentarily to evaluate His progress. He then continued until all was completed. Then he rested from his labour.

Rest Is the Reward for Work

The Bible tells us that after His labour He rested on the seventh day.  Was this a mere seven human days?  Adonai is the ancient of days. A day in His sight is not the same as our days (Isaiah 55:9).  It was not a mere seven human days that all the work was done.    Time was created to help man to understand that he has a short life-span (Psalm 39:4; Psalm 90:4,12; 2 Peter 3:8). Our God worked for a great many human years to accomplish his work.  Then he rested. All his work was established from then. All his work also includes everything transpiring around us. Jesus was physically slain many centuries after Adam but he was referred to as the Lamb that was slain before the foundation of the World (Revelations 13:8; 1 Peter 1:20).  Even Jeremiah was told that he was known and ordained a prophet before he was formed in the womb (Jeremiah 1:5).

Jesus Demonstrated Good Stewardship

The Word became flesh (Jesus Christ) and was among us showing us what is expected of man. Everyday He was busy working to accomplish the will of The Father, for his life on earth (John 5:17). Look at what he accomplished in only three years, by working strategically with The Father (John 21:25). Several millennia later, we are still benefiting from His teachings and examples.

Let us plan and strategically work towards accomplishing our objectives. Companies and successful people do this. Take the time to read the biography of Jesus Christ, Paul, Oprah Winfrey, Usain Bolt, TD Jakes, Cindy Trimm, Bill Gates or Mark Zuckerberg. Talk with a successful person you know; especially, someone who has overcome great odds.

Become A Finisher

Any child of the King of Kings can be an achiever (Mark 10:29-30; John 14:2). Jeremiah 29 verse 11 confirms this by declaring “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future”.

The approach is simple, we should:

  1. Walk in obedience to the commandments of the Lord (Joshua 1:7-9);
  2. Learn the promises of God for His children;
  3. Apply them to our lives so that we can get what the Lord has in store for us.
  4. Be focused on the end.
  5. Refuse to give up or stop until you have completed your assignment.
